Tony DiNatale is a native Bostonian, graduate of Harvard College, currently residing in Sarasota County, Florida. Following in his father's footsteps, DiNatale's company manufactured specialty sports surfacing for athletic facilities throughout the country. The family business received numerous accolades from such publications as Sports illustrated as the inventor of the portable basketball court and builder of the world famous Boston Garden parquet floor. Tony moved his business to Florida in 1976, and began trading commodity futures with a Harvard classmate who produced frozen concentrated orange juice. Together, they made many trips to the OJ trading pit at the World Trade Center. While in New York, DiNatale became interested in trading other commodities at the NYBOT, COMEX and NYMEX, and began trading his own account by the seat of his pants. He soon realized that as much as he loved trading commodity futures, he could not compete without an edge. Since his business required the utilization of engineering techniques and mathematics, Tony concluded that his best chance for success was to learn as much as possible about applying technical methodology to the futures markets. He then spent the next five years studying numerous writings by well-known market technicians, concluding that the most reliable studies were authored by Joe DiNapoli of Coast Investment Software Company. These lessons were invaluable in 1987, as he was able to calculate the October "crash" of the S&P 500 December '87 contract to within 8 points of the bottom. Sharing his technical studies with several friends led to the recovery of their losses and more. In fact, one of those friends, (on Forbes list of the world's wealthiest for the past 16 years), has used his signals for 23 years. In 1988, Tony sold his business and continued to refine his knowledge of the technical analysis of futures markets. As a professional trader for over thirty years, he applies his strictly technical methods to stock market indices, Bonds, Currencies, Energy and precious metals, seeking maximum gains over longer time frames. For the past 30 years, He has been actively involved as an officer and board member of Morningstar Charities, Inc, an Orlando, FL organization devoted to the education of mentally and physically challenged children. Tony became associated with Jan Tubbs and American Companies, llc. (Commodity Trading Advisor) in 2010 and became a Principle in that firm in February, 2011. Tony will manage the trading desk and back office of American.
