CTA Introduction

M&R Capital, LLC (M&R) is registered commodity trading advisor, offering qualified investors a discretionary trading program participating primarily in the livestock markets utilizing options and futures. All trading is performed via separately managed accounts. Principal Background: The trading principal of M&R is Scott Shepard. Scott began his career in commodities in 1990 working for Cargill Investor Services, LLC. After a brief period as a clerk Scott began to seek out his niche and became a livestock analyst. In 1993 he became a floor manager and CME broker. He managed a book of diverse customers including commercials, professional traders, and commodity funds. He had daily contact with clients and increased Cargills' presence in the livestock markets. Eventually he was put in charge of the agricultural trading division and was responsible for the cattle, hog, and dairy complexes. In 2005 Scott took his 15 years of experience at Cargill and joined JBS USA LLC. It was here that Scott, as the Director of Hedging, was responsible for the implementation and execution of hedging program for forward live animal purchases and forward product sales. He managed all cattle and hog futures positions for the firm. Starting in 2008 Scott assumed the role of Trading Manager and Head of Risk Management. Scott developed and executed a dynamic hedging portfolio of futures and options for the beef division. He was responsible for all S&D analysis and trading the overall cattle position for the firm. As it was always Scott's goal to become a CTA formed his own trading firm, M&R Capital, LLC, in 2015.
